Swiss Re Appoints Former AIG Global Trade Finance Exec As New Global Head Of Trade Finance

As per the latest reports on Aug 11th, 2021, the former American International Group Inc. (AIG) executive Marilyn Blattner-Hoyle has been recently appointed as global head of trade finance in the global credit and surety unit of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, effective Aug, 18. Swiss Re Corporate Solutions is the commercial insurance arm of Swiss Re Group. 

Ms. Blattner-Hoyle will be responsible to handle origination and underwriting operations across the trade finance portfolio, aimed at developing growth opportunities, and application of Swiss Re’s business strategy along with the digitization of its offered services, according to Swiss Re Corporate Solutions.

As per the news, Ms. Blattner-Hoyle, based in Zurich is expected to report to Andreas Hillebrand, global head of credit and surety. She joins Swiss Re from AIG, where she was operating in the position of global head of trade finance. She is a highly considered leader in the large structured trade credit and political risk market.

Swiss Re Corporate Solutions' credit & surety team facilitates several credit risk solutions to financial institutions, investors, exporters, or multinational organizations under professional’s assistance based in Zurich, Munich, Frankfurt, London, Milan, Singapore, Sydney, Chicago, Miami, and Sao Paulo.

Hillebrand explained, “Trade finance is a focused proposition in our group of business and over the years, we have fostered an extremely successful franchise with customer banks and corporates. Marilyn’s experience in handling a global trade finance book and her solid external network is perfectly suitable for our team. She will be involved in developing new and energizing products for our customers in this exceptionally dynamic business climate.”
